As Creative Director have been responsible for the agency more than doubling in size through the spearheading of key business wins including Nando’s, Hudsons Coffee, Interflora, Bosch Power Tools, Genesis Fitness Clubs, Monash University, Orbit Homes and Melbourne Heart FC. As a ‘hands on’ CD, I’ve created the work for the aforementioned clients – including the Nando’s ‘Portugasm’ campaign and ongoing topical executions, and Adriatic Furniture’s ‘The furniture those rich people don’t want you to have’ series of TVC’s, the success of both seeing massive store growth for these organisations. Involved in agency and client strategy, new business and pitch co-ordination and all elements of client liaison. Also responsible for the agency’s social media, marketing and public relations initiatives.

Key member of the team, heading up work on clients including Melbourne Central, GlaxoSmithKline, Yamaha Music, National Prescribing Service and Polaroid, while also working on brands such as Metricon, National Australia Bank, Mitsubishi, Sportsgirl and others across TV, radio, outdoor, DM, and online. Headed up the events and experiential creative area, producing the most successful fully-themed national conferences for pharmaceutical client GlaxoSmithKline that they had experienced to date.

Founded the niche 360-degree communications management agency specialising in the music and entertainment areas, enabling clients to speak successfully to the fashion-conscious, entertainment-consuming community. Make Some Noise provided Advertising and Marketing, Sponsorship Management, Publicity and Public Relations, Event Management and Entertainment Consultation services to this country’s largest event promoters and most recognised record companies, as well as leading streetwear and skatewear brands.

Responsible for creation of advertising material across all media channels for agency clients including Cadbury, Tabaret, Daimaru, Mobil, Mocopan, Amcal, Sussan, Bendix, Mt Buller and others, and quickly became the lead creative in the real estate, hotels and entertainment area on clients Jones Lang LaSalle, Sheraton, Westin, Four Points and Colonial Stadium.

October 1993 – September 1999
Recruited to oversee the launch of the new Zebra “club culture” magazine covering nightclubs, bars, restaurants, fashion and dance music within the Inpress publication. Conceptualised the magazine’s direction, format, design and layout to make it an incredible success, seeing a massive increase in advertising sales for the publisher. Later promoted to Managing Editor of the overall Inpress title and oversaw the publication’s relaunch involving total redesign and reformatting of magazine’s contents, layout and masthead. Successfully managed all areas of the magazine including proof reading, headline writing, feature scheduling, budgeting, layout design, magazine direction and journalist liaison, taking the publication to new levels of acceptance and professionalism.

May ‘91 – October ‘93:
Founded my own business dealing with musician management, publicity and promotion.  It involved liaising with media to publicise the artists’ live appearances and recorded releases, as well as managing their business affairs and advising on all aspects of their careers – including cover, poster and advertisement copy and design, tour booking and coordination, and attaining of sponsorships. Managed acts such as ‘Have A Nice Day’ and all-girl rock group ‘Girl Monstar’ who received an ARIA nomination for ‘best new single’.

Marketing & Promotions Manager @ Chasers Nightclub
April ‘89 – May ‘91:
In my time at the helm of the iconic Chapel Street club, Chasers enjoyed its most fruitful ever period, running five successful themed nights and turning over an unprecedented 10,000 patrons per week. The position included promotion, publicity and public relations duties, copywriting and design for promotional advertising, advertisement booking, development of marketing strategies, promotion budgeting, theme night and room decor conceptualisation.

Band Booking Agent @ Premier Artists
January ‘87 – April ‘89:
As a band book at Australia’s largest booking agency my responsibilities were to plan, organise and publicise tours for celebrities and musical groups. This involved liaison with the media and venue operators, and included the design of poster and advertising artwork, and the booking of press and radio advertising.
